IMPORTANT

In years’ past, NYSAWLA would get input on specific items that were confusing or were ambiguous and we would announce if credit would be given for all exams, statewide. This year, we understand that each district has had unique issues concerning language learning in their schools, post-COVID. NYSAWLA is, therefore, permitting districts to conduct their own item analysis as they score their exams, and determine whether to give credit to individual items that may be causing issues for students in their own district.  Nysawla suggests, based on best practices, that at least 50% of the students taking the exam need to get the item wrong before determining whether credit should be awarded.

Changes will also be posted on our website: www.nysawla.org/exam-portal/ in the “FLACS EXAM CORRECTIONS, UPDATES, AND IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS” section, located at the bottom of the page. We thank you for your cooperation and patience during the testing and scoring process.
